Keepin it real - Woop-de-woop!

Well my camera arrived the other day! Woop-de-woop! And is it super awesome!! (um, yes it is!)

But im not very happy with the delivery man, you see, I ordered from amazon.co.uk and they said it would take 3-7 days, meaning it would come sometime between Monday and Friday.

So I went out Monday, thinking that the camera wouldn't arrive, and when I come back, I find the delivery man has come, but seeing as no one was home he left my parcel outside, between the house and this little wall. - IN THE RAIN.

So anyone could have come and taken my brand new camera.

But all is well, dont panic.

In other news,

Do I know when I start work? ... is what I hear a lot of people asking me. (Well not actually hear, mostly they communicate by email..)

No, I dont. They said they'd keep me posted. And yes, the season starts at the begining of December, and I think that we start a few weeks earlier than that. So, Mid November?

Untill then ill be doing a lot more...

Stratford crew

Well I wish that I had some interesting things to post. But I dont. So i'll just tell you what I've generally been doing the last couple of weeks down in London town.

Stratford is about 30 minutes on the underground from the center of London, but no, that doesnt mean I've been doing interesting things like visiting museums, palaces, shops, bridges, or whatevers.. because you see a day travel card costs £5.40. which equates to about $13 australian in the old currency.

So instead ive just been hanging around at Dave, Chris and Andreas place. But no, hanging around doesnt mean watching tele all day, cause they dont have a tele. So hanging around means.. making beans on toast, listening to music, reading a book, doing sudoku, and drinking endless cups of tea. For some reason, maybe the climate, i dunno, but ive been drinking far more tea here than I ever have.

The Highlight of my day/week would be.. going down the street to the supermarket, and.. (what im doing right now) hanging at the library. Yes, the library,.. quite possibly the coolest place to hang in Stratford, except of course for KFC's.

Oh and Mum, ive found a new puzzle you might like. Its a bit like sudoku. its called KAKURO. I dont know if youve seen them or not. Try typing kakuro into google.

And where is this place in France?

Well I have been doing some investgating, coz i dont know where L'Alpe D'Huez is.

And i found out.
Just go find a map of France.
Try http://maps.google.com

I would point directly to a link but google maps makes this computer crash.

Find Geneva (hint: its in switzerland).

Go South from Geneva till you find a french city called Grenobla or Grenoble (hint: south on a map is usually down)

And the lovely alpe D'Huez is just a tiny bit east of Grenobla!

so basically its just next to Italy.

Le French Alps await

Well I got a offered a job as a kitchen assistant (hmm sounds like kitchen slave to me.. ) at the Le Mariandre, which is in the Alpe d'Huez, Grandes Rousses, France.

Which sounds like its in France to me..

The only problem is that it will be into April, which means I loose my return ticket..
I have 2 weeks to decide..

Has it really been that long since ive posted on here?

Well i guess it has.

Whats been happening you ask?

Well, I went over to France with Dad and my Uncle Gary to do some work on his house over there.. some bulding of frames and the such. Was a nice change. His place is out on the outskirts of some small rural town and so its pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Lots of cows though. Even when we'd go into town it was hard to find people. Like there were houses and shops but for some reason a real lack of people about. Perhaps they always stay inside.

Not like here in London, where theres people everwhere..

Im down in London staying at Dave, Chris and Andreas place. I came down cause I had a job interveiw yesterday, (Monday), for some work in the alps. I thought it was the swiss alps but it turns out this company has all of its hotels in france and austria.
Dunno how the interveiw went. It was for position of Commis Chef which is a trainee/aprentice chef position, and as Ive got no real chefing experience they were a bit hesitant. But I told them Im willing to do any type of kitchen work if it means staying on the slopes for a season so perhaps Ill end up washing dishes... Hey, sounds fine to me. They provide you with accomodation, all meals, season lift pass and snowboard hire.. hell.. ill become a dish pig again!

So, my birthday came and went for another year, haven't had a celebration yet. I think Im gonna celebrate with the "massive 4 times awesome birthday extravaganza 2006!!"

-Thats right, we are gonna have a combined party of mine, daves, chris's and tegans (21st!) later this month!!
(tickets selling fast)

Ok until next time,

Bye.
